I had been initially drawn to fashion since i recognized the ability it’d to mirror an individual’s mood. I joined into college like a Fashion merchandising major to follow along with a job that will let me explore this curiosity. However, several classes later, I recognized the travesties from the fast fashion industry and understood I couldn’t keep going after that major. I recognized that my choices not just made an effect on myself, but in the world and those who resided inside it.

“I recognized that my choices not just made an effect on myself, but in the world and those who resided inside it.”

I switched from my major and transformed my fashion blog. That Curly Top grew to become a sustainable lifestyle blog to advertise ethical living and encourage others to create small changes to produce a collective impact on society without forfeiting their style. In my opinion my wardrobe reflects exactly that.

Your way to defining my own style and living consciously go hands in hands. It’s been a procedure that i can become intentional using the pieces which go into my closet. I make certain which i only purchase clothing that actually works with anything else within my wardrobe, really fits me right, I wouldn’t mind putting on frequently, and it is purchased/made ethically. Like a university student, I’ve leaned more towards thrifting, saving to snag more costly ethical pieces, and becoming accustomed to really re-putting on my clothes without any shame. It’s been really fun, and it is certainly been a procedure to get at where I’m now.

But in the finish during the day, I wish to give others and myself elegance. Switching for an intentional lifestyle is tough. You screw up, get frustrated, feel guilty etc. The only real important factor to pay attention to is attempting. There’s a lot freedom in knowing there’s elegance for whatever a part of your ethical journey you begin on, but the most crucial part would be to move.
