I lately happened upon the textile brand MINNA on instagram and immediately fell deeply in love with their goods and story. The NY based brand strives to bridge the space between ethically made goods and contemporary design. Having a cottage industry approach, MINNA partners with master weavers and artisan collectives in Mexico and Guatemala. Their goods are created using traditional craft techniques which will help ensure both craft upkeep and job creation. MINNA’s designs are informed and inspired through the Bauhaus, Feminist art, traditional craft, and vintage textiles.

SOLO HOPE

Two buddies from Portland started partnering with indigenous weavers within the foothills of Mexico to produce superbly hand crafted rugs for that modern home. Stitch & Loom emphasizes an immediate trade model, where they meet each weaver personally and every weaver sets the cost for his or her rugs. Stitch & Loom’s beautiful textiles offer the craft indigenous Zapotec people and like heirlooms, their rugs should remain in the household for a lot of generations.
