Failing Zero Waste 101 Two times per week, without fail, I get home in the supermarket with fresh bundles of parsley, kale, cilantro, and romaine-in my house rabbit, aptly named Rosemary oil. Inside a perfect world, I mindfully wrap the vegetables within my multiple-use produce bags and apologize towards the clerk for departing little puddles of moisture around the checkout conveyor belt. However in the real life, I forget my bags more frequently than I recall them. And I must-shudder-make use of the flimsy plastic bags to help keep my produce clean. It isn't just failing to remember my bags though. I forget in order to save my veggie scraps within the freezer to make broth later, letting the remainder go right to the garbage rather of compost.
